Admissions Process

We are currently accepting applications for grades 5, 6, 7, and 8.

Listed below are all of the important steps for applying to Tremont School.  We strive to make the application process as simple and transparent as possible for our prospective families.  Parents should feel free to call us at any time with questions they might have.

Initial Inquiry

Request an application packet by calling, emailing, or by filling out a Parent Interest Form.  Prospective families are also encouraged to attend one of our Open Houses scheduled throughout the spring. 

Parent Visit

After the initial inquiry, parents can set up a time to meet with Kathryn Trogolo, our Director of Admission and Marketing, to learn more about the school, to ask questions, and to give us a chance to get to know each other.

Application for Admissions

The application form should be completed as early as possible in the process.  The application provides an opportunity for parents to go into detail about their child's personality, learning style, interests, strengths, and challenges.  It also includes a Release of Student Records form, which you must sign and deliver to your child's current school so that we can obtain their student records.

At this time you should also arrange for the teacher recommendation forms to be completed by your child's English teacher and Math teacher.  There is also an optional third recommendation form that you can use to provide more information from another adult who might know your child well (a coach, music teacher, guidance counselor, etc.)  Please note that this third recommendation form is completely optional.

For financial aid candidates only: Please submit the application for admissions even if you have not yet completed all requirements for the financial aid process.  It is important for us to get your application as early as possible.

Student and Parent Visit

Once we have received your completed application, someone from the admissions office will contact you to set up a time for you and your child to visit the school and spend some time in the classroom.

APPLICATION CHECKLIST

  • Request an application packet.
  • Attend a Tremont School Open House.
  • Give signed release form to current school authorizing copies of school records for the Tremont School.
  • Request English and Math recommendations (and the optional 3rd letter, if applicable) and arrange to have them sent directly to the Tremont School.
  • Optional: Arrange for ISEE/SSAT scores to be sent to the Tremont School.
  • Financial Aid Candidates only: Research financial aid, complete a Parent Financial Statement (PFS) online at www.sss.nais.org.  Arrange for financial forms to be submitted to SSS.
  • Send in application and non-refundable $50 Application Fee Payable to Tremont School.
  • Schedule student and parent visit.
